Are You Learning or Changing?

From Stagnation to Transformation: The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything

In February of 2024, I felt like a rocket ship sitting on the launchpad – fuel loaded, engines roaring, thick smoke billowing beneath me. I was shaking with energy, ready, capable… and yet, the countdown never reached zero. I could never actually get off the ground.

I had all the potential, but something wasn’t clicking.

So I joined a coaching program, did the work, and six months later, my business had taken off. The launch wasn’t perfect. There was turbulence, moments of doubt, and course corrections along the way, but I had built what I set out to build: a business with four high-level clients who relied on me.

I honestly couldn’t believe it. It was my dream come true and yet something felt off.

I was losing sleep. I was stressed, overwhelmed, and constantly questioning myself. Instead of feeling like I had finally reached orbit, I felt trapped in a job I had created for myself. So, after just 3 months of running the business I worked so hard to build, I made another bold move. I pivoted.

I went back to that same coach and she helped me build my business again, this time with a one-to-many offer. I let go of two of my clients and I redirected my energy into my Be Your Own Boss Better Bootcamp.

I wanted to help solopreneurs build AI-powered businesses that allowed them to move faster, scale smarter, and succeed without having to immediately hire a team. As my first cohort is getting ready to come to an end, I can see that it was absolutely the right choice!

Was I wrong to build the 1:1 Done For You service-based business? Absolutely not! I needed that experience and coaching to transform from the person I was in February 2024 to the business owner I became just 6 months later who was ready to build something bigger and better.

That’s why I don’t approach coaching, programs, or mentorship as a student simply trying to absorb information. I show up as someone ready to transform. And that mindset has made all the difference.

Let’s Get Real: Why Do You Invest in Coaching or Programs?

You’re a smart, capable entrepreneur. You built this business. You figured things out. You’re no stranger to hard work. But let’s get real for a minute. When you sign up for coaching, courses, or mentorships, why are you doing it?

Are you looking for another system, another checklist, another set of steps that you can follow? Or are you looking for something deeper?

Because there’s a BIG difference between being the person who wants to learn and the person who is ready to transform.

And that difference? It changes everything.

The Two Types of Entrepreneurs: Which One Are You?

The Learner

This is the entrepreneur who is always on the hunt for new information. They thrive on knowledge. They’ve got a Google Drive full of downloads, a bookshelf packed with business books, and a login to at least five different courses they’ve never finished.

They love consuming content.
They get excited about new strategies.
They take a ton of notes.

But when it comes to real, sustainable change?

They struggle to move beyond learning and into doing.

It’s not that they don’t want to implement, it’s just that they’re still operating as the same person they were before. And no strategy in the world can change your life or business if YOU aren’t ready to change first.

Learners stay busy. They’re taking notes, filling out planners, and signing up for more training. But at the end of the day, their business looks exactly the same.

Signs You Might Be a Learner:

  • You’ve taken multiple courses but haven’t fully implemented what you’ve learned.
  • You find yourself constantly searching for “the next best strategy.”
  • You get excited about new ideas but struggle to follow through.
  • You second-guess your decisions and feel like you still need more information before acting.
  • You feel stuck in the same cycle, despite consuming valuable content and advice.

The Transformer

Then, there’s the entrepreneur who shows up differently.

They’re done with the information overload. They’re not looking for more to learn. They don’t just want to learn another strategy.

They’re looking for who they need to become in order to get where they want to go.

When they invest in coaching, they aren’t just looking for answers. They’re looking for shifts – in their mindset, their decision-making, their habits, and their leadership.

Transformers make moves. They take imperfect action before they feel ready. And because of that, they grow faster, build confidence, and start seeing results that actually stick.

Signs You Might Be a Transformer:

  • You invest in coaching or programs to shift your mindset and habits.
  • You take action before you feel fully ready, trusting that growth happens in the doing.
  • You embrace discomfort because you know that change requires letting go of old patterns.
  • You don’t just collect strategies. You execute them and adjust along the way.
  • You focus on becoming the kind of leader who makes decisions with confidence, not hesitation.
  • You recognize that transformation is an ongoing process, not a one-time event.

The Key Difference: Implementation vs. Identity Shift

Let’s be clear, there’s nothing wrong with learning. Skills are meant to be learned, and that’s enough. (Just because I learned how to do my own taxes doesn’t mean I want to be a CPA!)

But when it comes to your business, leadership, and impact, you don’t just want to learn. You need to transform.

The key to real transformation isn’t just adding more strategies, it’s becoming the kind of person who can commit, execute, and adapt as needed.

Are you constantly taking in new information? Signing up for courses, downloading guides, following experts, only to find yourself stuck in the same place? Be honest with yourself: Are you staying in learning mode because it feels safe?  Or are you the kind of person who steps up and changes how you operate?

Because at the end of the day, this isn’t about whether you know enough. It’s about whether you’re becoming the person who can handle the level of success you say you want.

Transformation is never “done.” The same coach who helped me launch my business and then pivot it is still guiding me through the next evolution. Because the truth is, real success isn’t about just learning new strategies. It’s about becoming the person who can execute them.

It’s Time to Choose Transformation

You’ve read this far, which tells me something. You don’t want to keep spinning your wheels. You’re ready for real transformation.

If that’s you, don’t let this be another article you consume and move on from. Make the decision right now: Are you going to stay stuck in learning mode, or are you ready to start executing?

If you’re done just learning and ready to actually transform, my Be Your Own Boss Better Bootcamp is built for you and the next cohort starts in April. Book a call and let’s talk about what your next-level business looks like and if this is how you will get there!

Weekly Challenge:

From Learner to Transformer—Your First Step

This week, we’re putting real transformation to the test.

No more collecting courses, taking endless notes, or waiting for the “perfect time” to implement.

👉 Your challenge: Choose one thing you’ve been learning about and actually do it.

  • Been researching AI tools? Automate one repetitive task today.
  • Bought a course? Pick one lesson and implement it before watching another video.
  • Thinking about hiring help? Delegate just one small task (yes, even if it’s just your grocery order).

The goal: Move from learning mode to action mode. You don’t need more knowledge. You need more momentum.
