Consumption vs. Execution: Why You’re Still Stuck (Even With Great Advice)

If you are a high-achieving, ambitious business owner, I’d be willing to bet $100 that, right now, you’ve got at least three podcasts queued up, two courses half-watched, and a sticky note graveyard with “brilliant” strategies from people you can’t even remember.

You Don’t Need More Advice. You Need a Better Way to Use It

 (aka how I got high off cleaning chemicals and still learned a CEO-level business lesson)

Here’s how it usually goes for me:

It’s Saturday. I’ve got bleach in one hand, a scrubber in the other, and my earbuds cranked with the latest wisdom from Alex Hormozi or my coach Michelle Vroom. (A+ recs, by the way.)

Between laundry, scrubbing the tub, and maybe pulling weeds if I’m feeling extra outdoorsy, I’m consuming gold.

Like, “Omg that’s exactly what I need to do in my business” kind of gold.

But you know what I’m not doing?

Writing it down.
Processing it.
Let alone…implementing it.

Because apparently, rubber gloves don’t come with a capture system.

Sometimes that’s fine if it’s stuff I already knew and was doing and the advice is just positive reinforcement. 

But other times?

It’s tactical strategy I could use right now… if I wasn’t high off cleaning fumes and mentally filing it in the “do this later” folder. (and “later” never comes)

And even when I do write it down?

It becomes yet another thing sitting on my digital to-do list, silently judging me.

(just like the spinach I bought with good intentions, but has now rotted and which means I need to add cleaning out the fridge veggie drawer to my chore list 🤢)

Or even worse, I try to implement it, but get overwhelmed because applying someone else’s strategy to your unique biz isn’t as easy as “Step 1, be wildly successful.”

Here’s the hard truth:

You’re not “not growing” because you lack access to good advice.

It’s more likely you’re not growing as fast as you’d like because you don’t know how to custom-fit it to your business.

Let’s break it down. There are 3 reasons advice doesn’t get implemented:

1. You didn’t capture it. You were busy. It slipped by.
   
2. You captured it… and ignored it. Not on purpose, but life.
   
3. You tried to implement it… and drowned. Because advice isn’t strategy and strategy isn’t custom.
   

And that third one? That’s the gut punch.

Because when you try to do the thing and it still doesn’t work, it’s easy to spiral.

Maybe the expert was wrong.
Maybe it “just doesn’t work” for you.
Maybe you’re not as capable as you thought. (Lies, btw.)

Here’s what most founders need to know:

You don’t need better advice.
You need a better system for translating insight into action.

Here’s how it works:

1. Extract – Grab the good stuff from podcasts, blogs, or videos from the transcription, show notes, or good ole’ fashioned hand written notes YOU take
   
2. Deconstruct – Feed that to AI and ask it to outline the strategy (so you don’t have to re-listen 4 times)
   
3. Contextualize – Load your business info including your audience, your goals, and your offers and get a custom strategy that makes sense for YOU.
   
4. Translate – Tell AI to turn the strategy into a your-biz-specific checklist or workflow
   
5. Execute – Actually do the thing, assign it, or automate it
   

It’s not magic. It’s method.
