Exactly one year ago this week, I taught my very first “Be Your Own Boss Better” webinar. 

I showed 44 eager entrepreneurs how to use 4 monster prompts to turn AI into their strategic thought partner, not just a glorified idea machine.

That moment would spark a full-blown pivot in my business:

Here’s the truth about that pivot that doesn’t make the highlight reel:

 A Tale of Two Hards

Want a peek behind the curtain of my business?

DFY was hard because the personal time commitment was nonstop.
DWY is hard because getting others to show up with my same dedication and energy? Oof.

DFY was hard because all the pressure was on me to deliver.
DWY is hard because I can’t control someone else’s follow-through.

DFY was hard with looming deadlines always in my face.
DWY is hard because now I have to hold others accountable to theirs.

DFY was hard because charging high-ticket meant client acquisition was a grind.
DWY is hard because I need more clients to hit the same revenue goals.

Different hards. Same emotional workout. 

Choose Your Hard

Entrepreneurship is hard: No guaranteed paycheck, full responsibility, constant decision-making.
Being an employee is hard: Limited freedom, capped income, someone else controls your time.

Going solo is hard: You wear every hat, and burnout is always around the corner.
Building a team is hard: Hiring, managing, trusting others, and building systems.

High ticket is hard: Requires deep trust, strong positioning, and confidence in your value.
Low ticket is hard: High volume, ongoing marketing, and constant sales to hit goals.

Organic is hard: Slow growth, lots of effort, and inconsistent results.
Paid ads are hard: Risky investment, learning curve, and constant optimization.

Doing it all yourself is hard: Exhausting, lonely, and limits your growth.
Getting help is hard: Vulnerability, delegation, and letting go of control.

Hustling is hard: Long hours, adrenaline crashes, and diminishing returns.
Sustainable growth is hard: Requires planning, systems, and patience.

Playing it safe is hard: You stay stuck, second-guess yourself, and resent the ceiling.
Going all in is hard: Risky, uncomfortable, and requires big mindset shifts.

Hard Doesn’t Mean Hopeless

But ya know what? I wouldn’t change a thing.

Because after a year of showing up, stumbling forward, and choosing the hard that matched my long-term vision?

✅ I have less stress
✅ I have more time with my family
✅ And this math nerd is thrilled to report a 53.8% revenue increase (yep, I calculated it myself, no shame in my spreadsheet game).

The work is working.

And every tough call you made this year?

It built resilience.
It gave you proof I could trust yourself.
It made the next hard thing feel less hard.

The reps matter.

When you lift heavy weight over and over, you get stronger.

And when that weight starts feeling light?
You pick up the heavier dumbbell…and FLEX!
