What if staying stuck is the most expensive choice?

Ever feel like you need a coach… but your bank account says “lol, no”?
Yep. That inner tug-of-war is REAL.

It’s that weird catch-22:
“I know I need help to grow… but I’m not growing enough to afford help… but maybe I’m not growing because I don’t have help…”

Cue: the hamster wheel of entrepreneurial doom.

Let’s talk about it. No guilt. Just truth, clarity, and the power of a calculated leap.

Hiring a Coach When I Couldn’t Afford a Coach

A few years ago, I was a VA working for an agency making $20/hour, road-tripping with my family as we lived out the RV full-time lifestyle, and straight-up exhausted.

I was working more hours than my calendar had space for… and missing the life I was trying so hard to build.

It wasn’t sustainable. It wasn’t scalable. And it sure as heck wasn’t the dream.

So, I made a move that felt insane at the time: I invested in a coaching program I technically couldn’t afford.

Not because I had the cash. Because I needed the change.

That program helped me walk away from the agency, go all-in on my own business, and step into a strategic business manager role.

A few months later, I did it again. Another leap, another coach, another terrifying “I really hope this works” moment.

And you know what? It worked. Every leap catapulted me forward. And yes, I just made the biggest one yet with a high-ticket 1:1 coach.

My bank account whimpered… but my future self gave a standing ovation.

The Real Question Isn’t “Can I Afford It?” It’s: Can I afford to stay stuck?

Here’s how to break the loop and make a smart, gut-checked decision:

Step 1: What Do You Actually Want Coaching To Fix?

What’s not working right now?
What cycle are you stuck in?
What would actually be different in 60–90 days?

If you can’t answer that, don’t invest yet. Clarity first. Cash second.

Step 2: Is the Fear Real… or Just Loud?.

Is this literally unaffordable… or just uncomfortable?

Are you afraid of wasting money, getting burned, or finding out it “doesn’t work for you”?

Those are fair fears. They just don’t always mean “no.”

Fear isn’t a red flag. It’s just data. Let’s use it.

Step 3: Play It Out

Best case: You get support, momentum, and finally hit that next level.
Worst case: You feel stretched, it’s not everything you hoped, and you still learn something.

If you can recover from that worst case? That’s called a calculated risk.

Step 4: Quick Decision Tests

The “Will I Regret Not Trying?” test.
The “Stretch vs Panic” gut check.
The “Future You vs Fear Voice” conversation.

If it’s a stretch, not a panic… you’re probably ready.

Remember, coaching isn’t forever. It’s the parachute that helps you jump without smashing into the ground.

If your gut is whispering “this might be what I need”… don’t wait for perfect timing. Create it.

Your Challenge This Week:

 Play out the leap.

Write down:

  • What you want to change
  • Your best-case / worst-case outcomes
  • How you’ll handle each one

Then ask yourself: Would future me thank me for at least trying?

What leap are you thinking about making right now?
Let’s talk it through. No pressure, just real support.

Because betting on yourself is terrifying, profitable, and highly recommended.
